Quito World Travel Award winner

South Americans´s leading destination 2014

Quito, capital of Ecuador, was named South America´s Leading Destination 2014, on the 9th of August, at the World Travel Awards, for second consecutive year.

Quito was the host of the Gala Ceremony, it was held at the Itchimbía Cultural Centre, which gathered an international audience of leading tourism industry and media representatives.

This Award, is considered the Oscars of the tourism industry, which recognize the tourism that is pushing the boundaries of excellence in the travel industry and overall hospitality.

At the same time, Ecuador won the “South America´s Green Destination”award and the Ecuadorian Tourist Board was recognized as the “Best Tourism Organization”. Meanwhile, the Cruise Train, one of the most recent attractions in the country, won the “South America´s Best Luxury Train” award.

Last but not least the new airport of Quito won the prize as “South America´s Best Airport”
